Weather is the enemy of stored equipment. Getting inventory under cover and out of the rain extends the life of everything inside it.
High-cube versions add about a foot of interior height over standard. For storing anything tall, racking anything, or working inside the unit, that foot changes the experience entirely.
If the ground is soft, spread the load. Pads or sleepers under the corners prevent the settling that puts a structure out of square.
Fit-out costs can exceed the unit price if the specification climbs. It is worth deciding early whether this is storage or a working space, because the two lead to very different budgets.
Ground preparation pays for itself. A few railway sleepers or concrete pads under the corners keep it level, keep it draining and keep the doors swinging freely.
Consider the long view when siting it. These outlast most of the plans made around them, so somewhere that will still make sense in ten years is worth choosing.
Weather sealing degrades slowly and predictably. Checking and replacing door seals every few years keeps a unit genuinely dry for decades.
Maintenance amounts to keeping the door seals clean and touching up any damage to the coating. That is the whole program.
Establish a habit of closing and locking it properly. The most secure structure available is only as good as the routine around it.
